What does Cohost Kenya do?
Briefly, we help property owners increase their income with short-term rental solutions and reduce their workload. We manage the daily operations of Airbnbs and other short-term rental apartments, including online listing, photography, pricing management, guest communication, cleaning, laundry, toiletries and check-in and check-out of guests.
Where does Cohost Kenya currently operate?
We are based in Mombasa and mainly list properties on the Kenyan coast at the moment with plans to expand to other cities/towns in Kenya in future.
Which platforms do you list my property on?
Our main platform is Airbnb however we shall also list your property on other homestay sites and travel sites such as Vrbo, TripAdvisor, HomeAway, Tripvillas, Clickstay, Agoda and Expedia
My property is not on Airbnb, can I use Cohost Kenya?
Yes you can, we will help you set up a listing and manage it on your behalf.
I need to use the property myself – how do I temporarily block bookings?
Get in touch with us about the dates you want to block in your calendar. Before you arrive, we will make sure that your property is cleaned up, laundry is done and toiletries are replenished at your cost.
What happens if I decide to stop working with Cohost Kenya?
We require a notification at least 30 days in advance, we will deactivate your property on all the sites or hand over your listing back to you. If you let us know less than 30 days in advance, we will charge a small fine (amount determined in contract) and you will have to bear the cancellation fines from the online booking platforms that still have active bookings at your property on the calendar.
How much does Cohost Kenya hosting services cost?
We offer four packages; Basic, Platinum, Gold and Silver. Please check out our pricing guideline on the main menu.
Do I have to pay a set-up or onboarding fee to get started?
No, we do not charge a set-up or onboarding fee. We work fully on commission basis, you earn, we get paid.
(Note that in certain situations, especially for very short contract durations, we might charge an onboarding fee – which we will discuss with you beforehand).
How do I keep track of my earnings?
Your bookings, calendar and revenue can be found in your personal Host Dashboard, which can be accessed via the Home stay website. For our website, we shall share an invoice at the end of the month and a statement showing the cash and the cash out.
What measures has Cohost Kenya taken to ensure the safety of my property?
For potential guests that don’t have sufficient reviews on their profile, they are required to verify their IDs on Airbnb, and we might check their ID at check-in.
What happens if guests damage my property?
If at any point in time you find an item is missing in your home, please contact via email on contact@cohostkenya.com as soon as possible. Further, every host listed on Airbnb is eligible for $1,000,000 Host Guarantee coverage at no additional cost. Therefore, rest assured that your home will be in safe hands.
What do I need to start hosting with Cohost Kenya?
We don’t require any special requirements except those listed on a homestay website. For Cohost Kenya safety comes first so for all our clients who sign up for a year depending on the package, they will get a safety product such as a fire blanket, smoke alarm or a first aid kit.
